Food Safe Packaging Materials
While food processors and retailers understand the necessity to practice food safety in their operations, in the past few have demanded that their packaging suppliers exercise the same due diligence.
This is all starting to change as consumers demand increased transparency, product safety, and packaging materials safe for their intended use.
IFS PACsecure
The IFS PACsecure Standard was developed to give packaging suppliers a checklist to identify hazards and achieve excellence in product safety, traceability, and quality management.
Packaging production involves multiple processes that are unique to the each company. In recognition of this, International Featured Standards (IFS) uses a risk-based approach that covers the six essential areas of business.
More and more packaging suppliers are working towards IFS PACsecure certification as the standard of choice.
GFSI Recognized
IFS PACsecure is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and accepted by retailers and brand owners worldwide. The GFSI was created in 2000 to help address the eroding trust consumers had in the food they buy. Learn more about GFSI.
